Duties SummaryVeterans Services Counselors provide information, counsel, advice, and assistance to veterans, their families, dependents, and service members regarding services, assistance, or benefits to which they are entitled. They direct and refer them to appropriate agencies for additional services and perform other duties as required.
Minimum Qualification RequirementsLegal authorization to work
The State of Hawaii requires all persons seeking employment with the government of the State to be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.
Education
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
General Experience
One year of progressively responsible professional experience as an employment counselor, rehabilitation specialist, social worker, or similar role providing services to veterans and other clients, with knowledge of interviewing techniques, community resources, and local agencies.
Driver's License
Applicants must possess a valid driver’s license at the time of appointment.
