Job PurposeThe Clinical Consultant provides advanced, non-administrative clinical consultation to support the delivery of high-quality, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed services in a community-based environment. This role requires a strong clinical background, with expertise in mentoring and supporting staff in their professional development. The Clinical Consultant collaborates with the Leadership, Clinicians, Specialists, and Program teammates to offer case consultation and reflective supervision; to develop and implement assessments treatment goals, DAP documentation;
and, to ensure data quality in LTʻs database. The Clinical Consultant maintains close collaboration and open communication with the Director to promote service excellence, consistency, and continuous quality improvement.
- Contributes to the development and maintenance of a safe, supportive environment that fosters belonging and positive identity development for all participants.
- Builds and maintains respectful, positive relationships with youth and families engaged in programs and services.
- Responds to behavioral escalations calmly and respectfully, following established protocols and seeking support from teammates as appropriate.
- Assists in implementing youth development programming, including group activities and other program offerings.
- Provides encouragement, coaching, and guidance to youth that reinforces strengths, accountability, and healthy decision-making.
- Provides clinical consultation to strengthen assessment, intervention, and service planning for youth and families. Conducts regular case reviews and provide feedback to ensure the delivery of effective services.
- Promotes consistent use of evidence-based, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive practices.
- Monitors compliance with ethical standards, Lili’uokalani Trust (LT) policies and procedures, documentation requirements, and applicable state and federal regulations.
- Analyzes practice trends and service data to identify gaps and elevate quality improvement recommendations to management.
- Assists with training and mentoring Clinicians, Specialists, and Program teammates to strengthen clinical skills and procedural alignment.
- Provides input on staff performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback to support professional growth.
- Collaborates with other LT teammates to develop, refine, and implement LT procedures.
- Serves as a resource for complex cases and emerging practice needs.
- Analyzes service data to assess quality, outcomes, and fidelity to LT standards.
- Prepares reports, summaries, and presentations related to LT clinical services for leadership and to inform internal and external stakeholders.
- Delivers clinical counseling and therapeutic support for individuals, families, and groups addressing complex concerns, including mental health, trauma, family strain, and psychosocial stressors.
- Provides direct services in complex or high-need situations and offer coverage during periods of increased referrals to ensure continuity of care and timely support. Maintains accurate and complete clinical records and documentation.
- Participates in youth engagement activities and programs as supportive presence, not as program lead.
- Consults with program teammates to support youth engagement and behavior regulation. Share de-escalation strategies and trauma-informed approaches and provide insight into youth behavior patterns and emotional responses.
- Maintains open lines of communication with Director to ensure coordinated support.
- Functions as a liaison between frontline teammates and Director to ensure clarity, consistency, and alignment across practice settings.
