Yokosuka, Japan;
Iwakuni, Japan; or Sasebo, Japan. Relocation option available.
The Clinical Psychologist will provide care to military members at the Defense Health Agency (DHA). DHA is a joint, integrated Combat Support Agency that enables the Army, Navy, and Air Force medical services to provide a medically ready force to Combatant Commands in both peacetime and wartime. The DHA uses the principles of Ready Reliable Care to advance high reliability practices across the Military Health System by improving our system operations, driving innovative solutions, and cultivating a culture of safety.
CoreDuties
- Practice within the guidelines of the state licensing board, American Psychological Association ethical principles, and MTF privileges.
- Conduct psychological evaluations using clinical interviews, psychological testing, and collateral sources, as appropriate.
- Establish psychiatric diagnoses according to the American Psychiatric Association Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Disorders.
- Provide psychological treatment for individuals and groups; help medical and surgical patients deal with illnesses or injuries.
- Assist in rehabilitation of patients.
- Degree:
Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD). Graduate from an American Psychological Association–accredited college or university with a doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology. - Active and unrestricted license to practice as a Psychiatrist in any of the 50 United States or its territories.
- Successful completion of an APA‑accredited internship in psychology.
- Experience as required to meet clinical competency requirements specified in the credentialing instruction.
- United States citizenship.
Final compensation will be based on relevant factors including work experience, skills, certifications, and internal equity. Salary: $45.00 - $60.00 per hour DOE.
