Position: NA-Nurse Aide (PT)

Lunalilo Home and Adult Day Center offers diverse opportunities for those interested in using their skills and experience to serve kupuna (elders) and to make a difference in the lives of others by providing compassionate, quality care.

We seek Nurse Aides (NA) for a part time schedule (flexible for day, evening, night shifts) to assist the Nursing Department with the supervision, health status observation, daily activities and care of kupuna. Ability to work a flexible schedule is preferred

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assists in kupuna admissions, transfers and discharges.
  • Obtains and records vital signs.
  • Report any illness, actions, behaviors and other problems to RN or LPN.
  • Assists kupuna with meals and support healthy eating habits.
  • Assists with before and after meal care.
  • Transports kupuna to and from dinning area.
  • Help residents with their belongings
  • Support kupuna in daily living activities (hygeine) such as bathing, toileting, and dressing
  • Assists in providing a safe and sanitary environment for kupuna (e.g. changes bed linen when necessary)
  • Perform specialized therapy and range of motion exercise/activities
Required Documentation
  • TB clearance (2-step)
  • Criminal background and APS clearance.
  • Certification in In-Person Adult BLS CPR/AED
  • Certification in In-Person Adult First Aid
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to read, write and speak English
  • 6 months related experience and/or training in geriatric or long term care (preferred)

  • TB clearance (2-step)
  • Criminal background and APS clearance.

  • Ability to read, write and speak English
  • 6 months related experience and/or training in geriatric or long term care (preferred)
Physical requirements
  • Able to lift up to 70 lbs with some frequency.
  • Able to continuously stand or walk.
  • Able to bend, squat, climb stairs and lift frequently.
  • Able to think and respond quickly in emergency situations.
  • Have eye-hand-foot coordination.
Mental requirements
  • Comfortable with technology, including computer and other software and equipment.
  • Alert and pro-active (rather than reactive) when attending to residents.
  • Use sympathy and tact when interacting with residents
Preferred Qualifications
  • Six months experience as a Nurse Aide.
  • Prior training or experience working with residents with dementia.
