** Max Med Healthcare, in partnership with Readi Force Government Solutions LLC, is seeking a qualified Physical Therapist Assistant to support the Defense Health Agency (DHA) at Tripler Army Medical Center (TAMC) in beautiful Honolulu, Hawaii. The Physical Therapist Assistant will provide personal ancillary rehabilitation services, carrying out corrective exercise and treatment programs under the direction of a physical therapist for a diverse patient population.

* Schedule:

** Service is provided in coordination with MTF operating hours; specific two-week schedules are provided one month in advance. Alternate work schedules and telework are not authorized.

** Key Responsibilities
*** Carry out a program of corrective exercise and treatment for assigned patients as directed by the physical therapist (exercise, gait training, massage, whirlpool, hot packs, diathermy, ultrasound, paraffin, ice packs, traction).
* Instruct patients on proper use of wheelchairs, crutches, braces, and prosthetic appliances and devices.
* Administer intermittent and static traction to relieve neck and back pain; instruct, motivate, and assist patients to improve functional activities.
* Observe patients during treatment, compile and evaluate response data, and report to the physical therapist.
* Fit, adjust, and train patients in the use and care of orthopedic braces, prostheses, and supportive devices.
* Confer with physical therapy staff and other health team members to plan, modify, and coordinate treatment programs.
* Provide direct therapeutic care to diverse diagnoses (orthopedic, podiatric, neuromuscular disorders, burns; ambulatory and non-ambulatory patients); interpret physician orders and perform initial assessments to initiate care.
* Operate equipment and design exercise programs per standard physical therapy practice; demonstrate expertise with ultrasound, diathermy, TENS, cervical/lumbar traction, cryotherapy, electrical stimulation, paraffin therapy, iontophoresis, gait instruction, burn care, isokinetic rehabilitation, and progressive resistive exercise programs.## Qualifications

Education:

** Associate degree. Graduate from a college or university accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE). (Equivalency determination may NOT be requested.)
* ** Certification:
** Current Basic Life Support (BLS). No additional certifications required.

* Experience:

** One (1) year of experience within the last two (2) years as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
* ** Board Certification:
** None required.
* ** Licensure/Registration:
