Position: Health Information Management (HIM) Clerk
Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Health Information Management (HIM) Clerk to support medical records operations in Honolulu, Hawaii. This is a Contract position focused on accurate record handling, documentation review, and insurance eligibility support within a healthcare setting. The ideal candidate brings prior experience working with patient medical records, understands confidentiality standards, and can manage assigned tasks independently with limited supervision.

Responsibilities:

- Process and update patient medical records in a timely and accurate manner using electronic record systems.

- Verify insurance and payer eligibility to help ensure complete and correct patient account information.

- Maintain organized medical record files and support the accuracy and accessibility of patient documentation.

- Review charts and related records for completeness, consistency, and missing information before filing or follow-up.

- Protect sensitive health information by following established privacy and confidentiality standards in daily work.

- Assist with additional high-priority administrative or records-related duties as departmental needs change.

Requirements - At least 1 year of experience working with medical records in a healthcare environment.

- Hands-on experience with insurance or payer eligibility verification.

- Familiarity with electronic medical record systems and patient record documentation processes.

- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and patient privacy requirements.

- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify incomplete or inaccurate information.

- Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities effectively with minimal training. Talent Match®
