Overview

Hotel Equities, a multi-award-winning hotel development and hospitality management company, is seeking a Steward/Dishwasher for Bamboo Bar at the White Sands Hotel in Honolulu, HI.

• Washes dishes and other cooking utensils; restocks all clean glasses, silverware, and plates.
• Performs general cleaning to stay in compliance with health department standards.
• Puts away food stock and dry goods in their proper locations, rotating first in, first out (FIFO).
• Removes trash from all containers and transports it to the dumpster located on the loading dock.
• Due to the nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.

• Perform general/routine cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products as assigned to adhere to health standards.
• Perform other duties as requested, such as cleaning up spills or executing special guest requests.

• Good working knowledge of accepted standards of sanitation.
• Knowledge of operating a dishwasher, floor stripper, and buffer.
• Ability to read, write and speak English to read labels, place food and dry goods in the proper place, and communicate with team members.
• Ability to work in confined spaces.
• Ability to perform duties within extreme temperature ranges.
• Sufficient manual dexterity to load/unload the dishwasher and handle all kinds of kitchen equipment, knives, and slicing blades.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Some work experience in a related field preferred; some hospitality experience preferred.
