Serves as a working leader at a Navy Gateway Inn and Suites and/or Navy Lodge property, responsible for leading and inspecting the work of team members in performing housekeeping duties, ensuring program standards are met. Regularly performs the full range and scope of housekeeping services, the same as a Housekeeping Attendant.

• Train, demonstrate and supervise Housekeeping Attendants, passing on information and instructions received from the supervisor or manager.
• Assist in the training of new associates, answering questions regarding changes to policies, procedures and directives.
• Ensure work schedules are adhered to, keep the supervisor apprised of work status and assignments, and advise regarding problem areas.
• Maintain information on housekeeping work performed by room, number of occupants, departure and arrival dates, etc.
• Maintain continuity in the absence of the immediate supervisor.
• Greet and welcome guests upon sight, always maintaining outstanding guest relations.
• Conduct daily inspections of rooms, housekeeping carts, common areas, laundry facilities, and maintain written documentation of these inspections.
• Ensure privacy and security of guests are maintained at all times.
• Secure all items in the storeroom and/or assigned storage areas, determine and place orders for cleaning supplies, in‑room amenities and other materials or equipment needed by the housekeeping staff, and ensure items are available when required.
• Ensure equipment is properly maintained, stored and accounted for; issue amenities, supplies and linen to the Housekeeping Attendants and perform a monthly/quarterly inventory as required.
• Handle guest and/or staff suggestions and complaints; resolve problems in a tactful and diplomatic manner, referring difficult or unusual situations to the supervisor for resolution.
• Perform the full range of housekeeping services, including: cleaning guest rooms, public spaces, storage areas, laundry rooms, and exterior spaces; vacuuming, mopping, dusting, scrubbing, washing, moving items, polishing, cleaning, removing debris and trash, transporting clean and dirty linen and towels.
• Use hand and powered cleaning equipment in the performance of duties.
• Set up and break down the complimentary “self‑service” breakfast bar, assist with preparing, heating, displaying and replenishing breakfast items, and return the area to its original state free of leftover food by the end of the designated breakfast hour.
• Obtain proper food handling certifications as applicable.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment by applying knowledge of blood‑borne pathogen safety measures to determine potential safety concerns.
• Follow all NEXCOM Hospitality Group NHG protocols during daily service activity.
• Perform and inspect laundry operations at the facility.
• Possess a valid state driver’s license to travel to other lodging facilities as required.
• Respond to emergencies and inclement weather as needed in the absence of the immediate supervisor.
• Obtain NHG housekeeping certification within 6 months of employment and other certification requirements.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

No experience is required for this position.

High school graduate or equivalent; preferred 6 months of housekeeping experience, leadership and/or training experience.
