Payroll Administrator

Description

We are looking for a HR Generalist to support payroll and HR operations for a local organization in Honolulu, Hawaii. This role will oversee accurate payroll execution, benefits coordination, and employee record administration while providing dependable support throughout the employee lifecycle. The ideal candidate brings strong attention to detail, sound judgment with confidential information, and the ability to work effectively with external service partners and internal staff.

Responsibilities:

- Process recurring payroll activities from start to finish, verifying hours, deductions, tax with holdings, and payments are completed accurately and on schedule.

- Coordinate benefits administration by managing enrollments, status changes, and employee communications with the appropriate external partners.

- Maintain organized and up-to-date employee records, ensuring personnel and payroll data remain accurate across relevant platforms.

- Facilitate onboarding and separation activities, including preparing documentation, updating records, and ensuring required steps are completed promptly.

- Respond to employee questions related to pay, timekeeping, deductions, and benefits in a thorough and timely manner.

- Support compliance efforts by preparing information for audits, reporting requirements, and annual benefits review activities.

- Partner with HR and payroll contacts to resolve discrepancies, improve processes, and maintain alignment with company policies and applicable regulations.

- Assist with additional administrative and human resources projects as business needs evolve.

Requirements - At least 2 years of experience in payroll, HR administration, or a closely related administrative support role.

- Working knowledge of payroll practices, benefits administration, and employment compliance requirements.

- Experience handling payroll for employee populations of approximately 101 to 500 employees.

- Familiarity with multi-state payroll processing and related payroll controls.

- Hands-on experience using ADP Workforce Now or a comparable payroll platform.

- Strong organizational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

- Effective communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.

- Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
