Employee Relations Specialist

The Employee Relations Specialist coordinates and supports the employee relations program to ensure consistent and compliant application of organizational policies and practices. This role researches and responds to employee questions, concerns, and grievances, manages escalated employee relations issues, and leads thorough investigations into complex matters such as discrimination, harassment, and policy violations. The specialist provides clear, well-founded recommendations on disciplinary actions while ensuring adherence to applicable local, state, and country employment laws.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the employee relations program to ensure alignment and compliance with organizational policies and practices.
  • Research and respond promptly and professionally to employee questions, concerns, and grievances.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential, and up-to-date employee relations records and documentation.
  • Resolve escalated employee relations inquiries, including conflict resolution, investigations, and disciplinary matters.
  • Lead comprehensive investigations into complex employee relations cases, including allegations of discrimination, harassment, and other policy violations.
  • Gather and analyze relevant information and documentation to support fair and consistent investigative findings.
  • Provide clear recommendations regarding potential disciplinary actions based on investigative findings.
  • Ensure all employee relations activities and recommendations comply with applicable local, state, and country employment laws and internal policies.
  • Partner with HR colleagues and business leaders to promote fair, consistent, and transparent employee relations practices.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of employee relations processes and policies.
Essential Skills
  • Proven experience in employee relations, human resources generalist work, or as a Human Resources Business Partner.
  • Strong knowledge of employee relations practices, including investigations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead comprehensive and impartial investigations into complex employee relations matters.
  • Working knowledge of local, state, and country employment laws and their application in employee relations cases.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for handling sensitive employee issues and documenting findings.
  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess situations and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Ability to build trust and credibility with employees and leaders at all levels.

Skills & Qualifications
  • Previous experience specifically focused on employee relations is highly beneficial.
  • Experience as an HR Generalist or HR Business Partner supporting a variety of employee relations matters.
  • Ability to interpret and apply organizational policies consistently across different situations.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing multiple cases and maintaining records.
  • Comfort working with sensitive topics such as discrimination, harassment, and policy violations.
Work Environment

This role operates within a professional human resources environment that emphasizes confidentiality, fairness, and compliance. The Employee Relations Specialist typically works standard business hours, with flexibility as needed to address time-sensitive employee relations matters. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.69 - $50.48/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
