Position:Benefits Specialist

Location:Honolulu

Salary:$65,000 – $69,000 annually (depending on experience)

Local organization seeking a detail-oriented Benefits Specialist to support the administration of employee benefits programs. This role is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of benefits transactions, maintaining benefits records, conducting audits and reconciliations, and serving as a key resource for employee benefits inquiries. The ideal candidate is organized, customer-focused, and able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer employee benefit enrollments, changes, qualifying life events, and terminations.
  • Maintain accurate employee and benefits data within HRIS, payroll, and vendor systems.
  • Audit benefits records, deductions, and premiums to ensure data integrity.
  • Reconcile carrier invoices and resolve discrepancies with carriers, payroll, and finance teams.
  • Respond to employee benefit inquiries in a timely, professional manner.
  • Support new hire orientation, open enrollment, and benefits education initiatives.
  • Coordinate benefit communications, materials, and employee notifications.
  • Assist with benefits-related projects, process improvements, and system testing.
  • Ensure compliance with benefits policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma required;
    Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of benefits administration or payroll experience.
  • Working knowledge of employee benefits programs and HR practices.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to prioritize workload, meet deadlines, and work independently.
