Primary

Purpose:

Under the supervision of the Human Resources Director, the Human Resources Generalist is responsible for providing comprehensive human resources support across a mission-driven, federally qualified healthcare organization serving approximately 250 employees. The organization provides integrated healthcare services across multiple clinical and support departments, including Dental, Women's Health Adult Medicine, Behavioral Health, and other primary and specialty care services. This position serves as a trusted HR resource to employees, managers, supervisors, and clinical leaders.

This position supports recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, leave administration, HRIS administration, performance management processes, credentialing activities, and employee records management.

The Human Resources Generalist works closely with the Human Resources Director to ensure HR services are delivered effectively, efficiently, and consistently in accordance with organizational policies and applicable employment law.

Essential Duties:
Recruitment & Onboarding
  • Coordinate recruitment activities for clinical, administrative, and support positions.
  • Assist hiring managers throughout the recruitment and selection process.
  • Schedule interviews and coordinate candidate communications.
  • Facilitate pre-employment requirements, including background checks, employment verification, and onboarding activities.
  • Conduct new employee orientation and ensure completion of required employment documentation.
  • Maintain recruitment records and applicant tracking information.
HRIS & Employee Records Administration
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data.
  • Process personnel transactions, including hires, transfers, promotions, status changes, compensation changes, and separations.
  • Audit HR data and resolve discrepancies as needed.
  • Generate reports and workforce data as requested.
  • Maintain confidential personnel files and records in accordance with organizational policies and records-retention requirements.
Employee Relations Support
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee questions regarding HR policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Assist managers and the Human Resources Director with employee relations matters, workplace concerns, and performance-related issues.
  • Participate and conduct workplace investigations and maintain appropriate documentation.
  • Support a positive, respectful, and collaborative workplace culture.
  • Ensure employee matters are handled consistently, professionally, and confidentially.
Performance Management
  • Coordinate and monitor the performance review process.
  • Assist managers with performance documentation and follow-up activities.
  • Support performance improvement and corrective action processes.
  • Maintain performance management records and tracking systems.
Leave Administration
  • Coordinate employee leave requests and maintain required documentation.
  • Assist employees and managers with leave-related processes and communications.
  • Track leave activity and maintain accurate records.
  • Support administration of leave programs in accordance with organizational policies and applicable federal and state laws.
Credentialing & Organizational Support
  • Assist with employee credentialing activities, including collection and tracking of licenses, certifications, registrations, and renewals.
  • Maintain credentialing-related documentation and records.
  • Support preparation for audits, accreditation reviews, and regulatory surveys by maintaining required personnel records and documentation.
  • Maintain employee training and compliance records as assigned.
  • Assist with employee meetings, engagement activities, training programs, and special projects.
