Position: Full-time, Payroll Assistant
Location: Honolulu

Schedule: Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM
Pay: $26.00 – $32.00 (depends on experience)

We’re seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Assistant to support payroll operations for a large healthcare organization in Honolulu. This role is responsible for assisting with payroll processing, researching payroll-related issues, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws, policies, and collective bargaining agreements.

Job Duties:

  • Assist in the execution of payroll processing functions in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Investigate, research, and resolve employee payroll inquiries.
  • Review and process payroll transactions related to compensation and timekeeping.
  • Support payroll activities involving collective bargaining agreements and pay practices.
  • Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and organizational policies.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources and other departments regarding payroll and attendance matters.
  • Perform data entry, audits, and reporting as needed.

Job Requirements:

  • Associate's degree in Business or a related field required; two (2) years of accounting experience with bookkeeping/accounting coursework may be substituted for the educational requirement.
  • In addition to the education requirement, two (2) years of payroll and/or human resources experience required.
  • Experience working with collective bargaining agreements, compensation practices, and time and attendance systems.
  • Knowledge of FLSA, COBRA, ERISA, and basic labor laws.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
