As a Systems Administrator Intermediate, the work you will do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of Army Intelligence. You will play a crucial role in securing enterprise systems, advancing future capabilities while driving smarter solutions.
Responsibilities- Lead/Manage/Support: Perform software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages. Schedule installations and upgrades while maintaining compliance with established IT policies and procedures.
- Collaborate: Troubleshoot, isolate, and resolve complex hardware and software issues involving applications, operating systems, hardware, or network infrastructure, working closely with team members and agency customers.
- Drive: Monitor and tune systems for optimum performance levels, ensure data recoverability through managed backup and archive processes, and develop and promote standard operating procedures.
- Utilize: Conduct routine hardware and software audits, manage IT system infrastructure, and maintain a comprehensive database/library of hardware and software configurations along with supporting documentation.
- Perform systems administration of desktop and server systems connected to local and wide-area networks, including desktop system management of account monitoring, security updates, and OS installations.
- Provide support for IT systems’ implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Ensure day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for all client/server/storage/network/mobile devices.
- Deliver Tier 1 and Tier 2 support, including problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution, while escalating complex issues.
- Configure and manage operating systems, including UNIX and Windows, and install and maintain operating system and application software.
- Enhance operating system performance and reliability by implementing upgrades and optimizing configurations.
- Support hardware problem resolution and dispatch deployment, remaining actively involved in resolving major issues.
- Integrate new technologies into existing systems, handling transitions and migrations effectively and efficiently.

- Education: Associate’s Degree
- Experience: 7+ years of related experience
- Technical skills:
- Advanced troubleshooting skills for IT systems and infrastructure.
- Ability to provide detailed analysis and deliver feedback to agency management and customers regarding escalated tickets.
- Comprehensive knowledge of managing IT infrastructure components, operating systems, and application software.
- Security clearance level: TS/SCI
- US citizenship required
- Required Certification(s):
- DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II/8140 Computing Environment (CE) Certification as determined by the Program Manager is required prior to support on contract.
- IAT II 8570/8140 Baseline Certification:
Security+ or equivalent. - Computing Environment certification: MSCA 2016, Microsoft Azure Administrator, or equivalent (must obtain full AZ104 Microsoft Azure Administrator Certification within 180 days from the start date).
- Role requirements:
- Daily support on-site at the customer location.
- Willingness and ability to attain a CI Polygraph for specific positions as required.
- Position may involve moderately strenuous activities such as lifting IT hardware, reaching, bending, or kneeling to plug in cables.
- Travel as needed to support mission objectives.
