Overview
ASRC Federal is seeking an Electronics Technician III for our ISS2 contract supporting our Air Force customer. This position is located on Wake Island on a rotational schedule (3 months on the island and 1 month off, unpaid). Wake Island is approximately 2,100 miles from Honolulu (HNL). On-site housing is provided in a dormitory, and all meals are furnished through the cafeteria.
Transportation to Wake Island is provided by government-sponsored aircraft. This is a negotiated union position.
The ET/IT provides support to a distributed PC/Network environment including installation, testing, repair, and troubleshooting for standalone PCs and networks, printers, and other computer peripherals. The Computer Support Technician provides technical, operational, and training support to users of personal computers by telephone or on-site for PC desktop hardware and software packages. Supports maintenance actions of communications systems and equipment, meteorological systems and equipment, telephone systems and equipment, and navigational aids (NAVAIDS) including associated systems, subsystems, components, and equipment.
COMSEC manager duties are performed in accordance with applicable directives, manuals, and USAF contract standards.
- Manages user accounts and system resources for local company network.
- Manages user accounts and system resources for the Air Force Nipr Net Network.
- Manages user accounts and system resources for the Air Force Sipr Net Network.
- Troubleshoots a wide range of computer problems to include hardware, software, and security issues.
- Responds to customer requests for assistance submitted via telephone, email, or in person.
- Receives requests for resolution of hardware or software problems that may require in-depth research.
- Performs maintenance, repair and installation of computer and network cabling/wiring.
- Assists with maintenance of ILS equipment, C-E-M or NAVAIDS systems, UHF/VHF GAG radios, or HF single sideband radios.
- Assists with maintenance of automated meteorological sensing equipment.
- Serves as COMSEC Responsible Officer (CRO) alternate. Responsible for storage and accountability of all classified assets.
- Demonstrates knowledge of various types of computer hardware, software, and operating systems to include:
Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and networking hardware. - Familiar with common office machinery, including copiers, fax machines, and computers.
- Performs duties in a timely, cost-effective manner.
- Works harmoniously with others.
- Performs assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
- Performs related work as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Associates Degree in a computer related field and three (3) years of computer/helpdesk experience.
- DoD 8570 IAT Level 2, CompTIA A+ and Security+ certifications.
- Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook).
- Experience with MS Server 2000–2008 and MSSQL Server 2008.
- Experience with secure data storage.
- Experience with various operating systems, including Windows 98, NT, 2000, ME, XP, and Windows 7.
- Valid state driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
- Ability to lift 35 lbs.
- Current security clearance at the secret level and ability to maintain it throughout employment.
- Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment background check, fingerprints, physical, and drug test.
