Systems Engineer, IT Consultant
This role plays a critical role in driving business growth for Hawaiian Telcom business customers by leveraging your technical expertise to align customer needs with innovative technology solutions. Reporting to Manager -- Sales Architects, Sales Architects play a key role in pre-sales activities, collaborating with clients to understand their requirements and crafting compelling solutions that drive positive business outcomes. The position requires a blend of technical proficiency, strategic thinking, and effective communication skills to successfully position and sell the company's technology offerings.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their business challenges and goals.
- Design and present technology solutions that align with customer needs, ensuring a seamless integration with existing systems.
- Work closely with the technical team to translate customer requirements into actionable plans.
- Act as a technical liaison between the sales team and customers, providing insights into the feasibility and benefits of proposed solutions.
- Support the development of sales proposals and technical documentation.
- Assist in the preparation and delivery of product demonstrations.
- Customer Needs Assessment
- Conduct in-depth assessments of customer needs, ensuring a thorough understanding of their objectives and pain points.
- Collaborate with the sales and product teams to tailor solutions that address specific customer requirements.
- Technical Leadership
- Stay informed about the company's technology stack and updates.
- Provide technical guidance to the sales team, ensuring a deep understanding of the technical aspects of the products and services offered.
- Project Coordination
- Work closely with project managers and delivery teams to ensure a smooth transition from sales to implementation.
- Provide ongoing support to customers during the post-sales phase
Minimum of 12 years of experience in roles such as Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect, or a similar position, with a focus on supporting customer needs and outcomes using company technologies.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Relevant certifications in the Hawaiian Telcom's technology stack.
- Sales or technical certifications in related fields.
- Proficiency in system design, cloud computing, architectural frameworks, security and networking technologies that include Cisco, Palo Alto, Arista, Fortinet, EMC, and other prevailing customer hardware.
- In-depth knowledge of at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
- Familiarity with programming languages, databases, and enterprise IT infrastructure.
- Networking Expertise:
- Extensive experience in designing and implementing network solutions for large-scale environments.
- Knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), security, and performance optimization.
- Certifications:
CCIE, CCNP, JNCIP, or equivalent. - Sales and Customer Focus:
- Proven experience in a customer-facing technical role, understanding and addressing customer needs through technology solutions.
- Ability to effectively communicate the value proposition of company technologies to clients.
- Communication
