Storage & Data Protection Analyst

Kavaliro is seeking a Storage and Data Protection Analyst to support large-scale virtualized infrastructure and secure cloud computing environments within the Pacific Theater. This role focuses on enterprise storage management, virtualization technologies, SAN administration, data protection, and VDI backend infrastructure operations supporting mission-critical DoD systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain virtualized multi-tenant data centers and secure hybrid cloud environments supporting DoD operations.
• Administer storage, networking, servers, databases, and VDI infrastructure within large-scale enterprise deployments.
• Support RAM-based VDI storage acceleration technologies and virtualized server acceleration platforms.
• Manage and maintain SIPRNet-connected servers, networks, and storage systems in accordance with Air Force standards.
• Develop operational procedures, test plans, and technical training materials for government personnel.
• Build and support backend virtual environments utilizing Cisco UCS, EMC VNX, VMware vCenter, and VMware Horizon View.
• Administer Storage Area Networks (SANs) including EMC, Net App, Nutanix, Tintri, Nimble, and related technologies.
• Provision and manage virtual servers supporting Unified Communications and SharePoint environments.
• Support physical-to-virtual (P2V) migrations within enterprise data centers.
• Deploy and manage Thin Client and Zero Client environments across existing network infrastructures.
• Support geographically dispersed deployments where bandwidth and connectivity present operational challenges.
• Provide enterprise troubleshooting support for virtual servers, VDI infrastructure, and storage systems.
• Manage Teradici PCoIP technologies including firmware, policies, and device administration.
• Conduct daily VDI health monitoring and performance analysis using Stratusphere or similar monitoring platforms.
• Install, configure, and maintain Atlantis iLio or equivalent server RAM storage technologies.
• Administer VMware vRealize for infrastructure visibility, performance monitoring, and optimization.
• Perform first-line troubleshooting support in coordination with local and enterprise technical teams.
• Support additional technical and operational duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Experience implementing and managing enterprise storage and virtualization technologies in DoD environments.
• Hands-on experience with:
• EMC VNX, Net App, Solid Fire, Data Domain, Avamar, Recover Point
• Cisco UCS platforms and Cisco MDS switching
• VMware vSphere, Horizon View, vCenter, and vRealize
• Nutanix and hyper-converged infrastructure solutions
• Experience with Windows Server environments, Active Directory, Exchange, and enterprise backup solutions.
• Knowledge of VDI performance monitoring and optimization tools such as Stratusphere UX.
• Experience supporting secure enterprise storage and backup operations.
