Aloha! One of Hawaii's utility companies is seeking a Desktop Technician to support one of their long-term contracts. This opportunity does stretch across Oahu, Big Island, and Maui (total of 4 technicians; 2 on Oahu, 1 on Maui, and 1 on Big Island). Pay is different for each island and commensurate on experience.

Description

Responsible for acquiring PCs and conference room equipment from the Company's warehouses, securely staging, and building them (with standard image), maintaining the inventory, and then distributing the PCs and conference room equipment to designated distribution/storage locations in quantities needed for deployment and repairs. Average monthly volume of PC builds, conference room equipment deployments, moves, and replacements: 30 - 40 builds per month per tech, conference room troubleshooting anticipated to be 10 x per month per tech, moves and replacements of client staff average 30 per month per technician.

General Services

The scope of work shall be defined by the Company and may include but not limited to:

- Hardware/software maintenance and troubleshooting

- Hardware/software installs

- Data entry - which includes updating in a timely manner and adhering to processes for documenting work performed (such as requests and incidents).

- Hardware moves

- Problem research

- Documentation of various Desktop Support Services processes

- Service Desk support

- Special projects

- Inventory

- E-waste

Support

As part of the proposed desktop services, the Contractor must respond and resolve the incident as follows:

Severity 1 (High):

- Urgent. Entire workgroup or mission-critical system is down. A technician will call back the user within 15 minutes and be on user-site within 2 hours and resolve the problem within 1 hour.

Severity 2 (Medium):

- Serious problem, not necessarily affecting an entire workgroup. A technician will call back the user within 30 minutes and be on user-site within 4 hours and resolve the problem within 2 hours.

Severity 3 (Low)

- Incidents that need assistance before end of day. A technician will call back the user within 60 minutes and be on user-site within 6 hours and resolve the problem within 3 hours. If problem is reported at 4pm, we will negotiate with the internal requester that the problem be resolved on the next business day. Otherwise, we would escalate the severity level.

Additional

Skills & Qualifications

Experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting networked and locally connected printers in an enterprise environment.

Proficient in supporting commonly used business applications, including Microsoft Office and Adobe, with the ability to troubleshoot and assist end users.

Working knowledge of audio visual electronics used in conference rooms, including setup, connectivity, and basic troubleshooting.

Experience supporting conference room technologies such as widescreen TVs, projectors, and video conferencing systems (e.g., Polycom), including setup and issue resolution.

Technicians must have the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization, both verbally and in written communication.

Technicians must also be able to work under tables, on ladders, move up and down stairs, and lift up to 60 pounds

Basic knowledge of safety issues associated with electrical equipment is required

Nice to Have

Working knowledge of A+ or equivalent is strongly desired.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
