Service & Delivery Technician III

Description: Service & Delivery Technician III supporting Safeway retail grocery stores in Honolulu and the surrounding area.

Responsibilities
  • Support standard hardware platforms and systems installed throughout Safeway stores.
  • Repair approved standard technology hardware including PC/Server hardware, network hardware, RF hardware, and printers.
  • Provide complete recoverability of systems and applications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with computers, printers, POS systems, scales, and network servers.
  • Install new hardware and software as required.
  • Meet service level agreement goals for customer support.
  • Support network and remote connectivity (hardware/software).
  • Maintain equipment inventory controls and policies.
  • Collaborate with the Service and Technical Support Center (STSC) on problem assignment and resolution.
  • Interface with Corporate IT groups for on‑site support and technology resolutions.
  • Adhere to repair standards and service levels established by the organization.
  • Provide driving support for the Zone Service Area, including up to 25% travel to the outer islands (Hawaii, Maui, Kauai).
Qualifications
  • High school graduate; BA/BS degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of technical training or hardware certifications preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in information technology project implementation.
  • 2+ years of technical support experience, preferably with retail store systems.
  • Experience with installation and configuration of desktop and peripheral technology.
  • Working knowledge of IT hardware, installation models, Windows, MS Office, and related applications.
  • Excellent telephone, customer service, and problem‑solving skills for high‑pressure situations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for presenting technical information to customers.
  • Strong sense of urgency, business ethics, dependability, and follow‑through.
  • Flexible to work a variety of shifts, including day, evening, overnight, and on‑call support.
  • Must have a good, safe driving record and reliable vehicle.
Physical Environment

Work may be performed in a temperature‑controlled environment, requiring extended periods of sitting, standing, or walking. The role may involve long periods at a desk or computer terminal, use of keyboards, telephone, and office equipment. Tasks may require stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching. Fast‑paced work may include evening and weekend hours, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds of equipment.
