Description
Aloha! One of Hawaii's utility companies is seeking a Desktop Technician to support a long‑term contract that spans Oahu, Big Island, and Maui (total of 4 technicians: 2 on Oahu, 1 on Maui, and 1 on Big Island). Pay varies by island and is commensurate with experience.
ResponsibilitiesAcquire PCs and conference‑room equipment from company warehouses, securely stage them, and build them with the standard image. Maintain inventory and distribute devices to designated locations, with an average monthly volume of 30‑40 builds per technician and 10 conference‑room trouble‑shoots per month.
- Hardware/software maintenance and troubleshooting
- Hardware/software installations
- Data entry, including timely documentation of requests and incidents
- Hardware moves
- Problem research
- Documentation of Desktop Support Services processes
- Service desk support
- Special projects
- Inventory management
- Electronic waste management
Support incident response times by severity level:
- Severity 1 (High) – Call back within 15 minutes, on-site within 2 hours, resolve within 1 hour.
- Severity 2 (Medium) – Call back within 30 minutes, on-site within 4 hours, resolve within 2 hours.
- Severity 3 (Low) – Call back within 60 minutes, on-site within 6 hours, resolve within 3 hours; if reported after 4 pm, negotiate next business day or alternate escalation.
- Experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting networked and locally connected printers in an enterprise environment.
- Proficient with common business applications, including Microsoft Office and Adobe.
- Knowledge of audio‑visual equipment for conference rooms (setup, connectivity, basic troubleshooting).
- Experience supporting conference‑room technologies such as widescreen TVs, projectors, and video‑conferencing systems (e.g., Polycom).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for all organization levels.
- Ability to work on ladders, stairs, and lift up to 60 pounds.
- Basic safety knowledge associated with electrical equipment.
- Working knowledge of CompTIA A+ or equivalent is strongly desired.
Three‑year contract duration. Business hours 7:30 am – 5:00 pm with a 1‑hour lunch break.
