Job SummaryCastalia Systems is seeking a Journeyman Systems Administrator, to support our client onsite at Fort Shafter, HI.
Roles and Responsibilities- Install, configure, administer, manage, and maintain network infrastructure (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls) and Windows physical and virtual server environments/operating systems.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls across various systems, networks, and applications: including creating, enabling, provisioning and deactivating user accounts.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot and resolve hardware/software issues, optimizing network performance, manage system backups and recovery processes, and implement necessary upgrades and patches.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (can substitute with Associate's degree and 4 years of experience, or HS diploma and 6 years of experience).
- 3+ years of experience in system administration, network administration, or a related role.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical users and collaborate across multiple teams and external entities.
- Experience managing multiple concurrent tasks, projects, and priorities to meet customer deadlines.
- Excellent organizational skills in maintaining documentation of system configurations and procedures, and providing reports on system performance, incidents, and maintenance activities.
- Experience providing technical support to end users: monitoring system performance, troubleshooting and resolving hardware/software issues, optimizing network performance, managing system backups and recovery processes, and implementing necessary upgrades and patches.
- Ability to install, configure, administer, manage, and maintain network infrastructure (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls) and Windows physical and virtual server environments/operating systems.
- Experience with managing user accounts, permissions, and access controls across various systems, networks, and applications: including creating, enabling, provisioning and deactivating user accounts.
- CompTIA Security+ and/or DoD 8570-compliant IAT Level II Certification.
- Experience supporting the Intelligence Community or a DoD, Army, or Joint Staff classified program.
- Experience as a U.S. Army Information Management Officer and/or coordinating across multiple organizations including Signal Brigades, Army offices, INSCOM, DoD CIO, DIA, GISA, NEC.
- Ability to assist in planning and executing IT projects, such as system upgrades, migrations, or new technology deployments.
- Ability to communicate and work collaboratively with team members, government clients, and stakeholders across teams to problem solve and recommend and implement system improvements.
- Experience with Kanban, Agile, or project management applications and methodologies.
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), CompTIA Network+, or Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) certification(s).
- Normal office environment.
