Job Summary
This position will work within the Enterprise Applications and Data Management team to support one of the University’s core business areas as a direct consult and subject matter expert (e.g. SIS, FIS, HRIS or ERP General specialist). The Application Administrator will develop solutions to help manage business processes, write specifications, and provide documentation for necessary changes. This person will be responsible for resolving non-routine problems as they arise, serving as a resource, translating technical information to non-technical users, analyzing software applications that can enhance office operations, maintaining data integrity and provide training when the need arises.
The position includes responsibilities for systems migration testing, writing scripts and resolving system integration issues in collaboration with HPU’s central Information Technology Services Department and end users.
This position is based out of our Pioneer Plaza campus site in downtown Honolulu.
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field; or 3 years of relevant IT experience in lieu of a degree.
- Experience working within fully integrated systems, which may include applications, databases, and application program interfaces.
- Experience administering an enterprise-wide application
- Experience supporting an enterprise-wide student information system
- Demonstrated experience maintaining application integration and data flow management
- An understanding of admissions and/or enrollment related business processes (e.g., recruiting, application review, decisions)
- Ability to manage complex tasks with minimal supervision in team situation and communicate effectively with broad range of individuals
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship and relocation allowance are not available for this position.
- Report to work obligations to support the department and may require work during HPU’s winter break, if necessary.
- This position may be considered an essential position with report to work obligations depending on the type of emergency, campus closure, or evacuation.
- Must meet training and background check qualifications and comply with the Protection of Minors policy.
- Upon hire, must maintain reliable personal transportation to facilitate travel between to all HPU worksites and other locations as required by the position. This includes a valid driver’s license and a personal vehicle that is legally registered and insured.
- Able to work all shifts and extended hours, as applicable.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment requiring excellent time and stress management skills.
1. Tech Support and Consultation to assigned functional area SIS, FIS or HRIS (45%)
- Participate and manage software development for systems integration projects, data analytics and extraction, data cleanup, and software solutions related to business process changes.
- Analyze system, user, and project requirements; design, develop, test, and implement related solutions.
- Routinely monitor for application issues. Investigate, identify, and implement appropriate solutions.
- Develop and maintain written documentation for all designated area-related application processes and ensure that information about new software releases is communicated to end users.
