Assistant Underwriter

* This position is located on the island of Oahu and is not remote. Candidates must work in the state of Hawaii upon hire*

• Process new business, renewals, endorsements and other transactions, includes handling basic underwriting analysis for routine new business applications.
• Input data into underwriting tools during pre‑underwriting processes and/or gather missing information to assist underwriters in proper evaluation of new and renewal accounts
• Collaborates with team members to address needs, updates, or concerns related to assigned accounts with understanding of core property & casualty line of business or insurance segment
• Other duties as assigned

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Ability to work well with other
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Team player with a positive attitude
• Able to follow directions and detail oriented

• 1 – 2 years general office experience in insurance industry

• 3 – 4 years general office experience in insurance industry

• Commercial underwriting or rating experience
