Responsibilities- Monitor the renewal pipeline and underwrite renewal business within established authority.
- Process endorsements and perform underwriting analysis on low‑complexity renewal accounts, analyzing exposures, financial stability, historical loss data, and potential hazards.
- Refer renewals outside of assigned authority to a Manager or Underwriter.
- Apply recommended pricing to underwritten accounts and discuss significant rate changes with the Underwriter and Regional Sales Director to determine the best approach for communication with the agent.
- Serve as the account team’s first point of contact with agents concerning missing information, service issues, billing questions, etc.
- Review incoming account endorsement requests for acceptability, approve endorsements within authority levels, and refer endorsements outside authority or with unique exposures to appropriate authority level.
- Order loss control reports based on underwriting guidelines, review and advise the Underwriter of discrepancies, and follow up on open recommendations.
- Complete required filings and review premium audit changes, requesting updates to exposures as directed.

- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Commercial rating experience or experience in an underwriting role preferred.
- Advanced insurance education desired (e.g., Associate in General Insurance, Kaplan Insurance courses, CPCU).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact professionally with all internal and external contacts.
- Solid organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities.
- Strong computer skills with knowledge of MS Excel and Word.
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
- Learning agility and willingness to learn from experiences and new situations.
- Ability to project a warm and friendly manner in all business contacts and maintain professional relationships with co‑workers, agency contacts, and the general public.
