Chinese Mandarin Operational Language Analyst; OLA

Responsibilities

• Translating and/or transcribing complex and sophisticated written and/ or spoken material.
• Gisting complex and sophisticated written and/or spoken material.

• TS SCI FSP

• Equivalent of four (4) years’ full-time experience performing cryptologic language processing in the required language.
• In lieu of an Associate’s Degree, an additional two (2) years of directly related, applied, practical work experience may be substituted for a total of six (6) years’ experience.
• For at least two (2) of the four (4) years’ experience, translating and/or transcribing, and gisting shall be the primary duties.
• For no more than one (1) year of the required four (4) years, reporting shall be the primary duty.
• Two (2) of the four (4) years’ experience shall be within four (4) years of resume submission.
• One (1) year experience typing on an English keyboard.
• ILR Skill Level minimum 2 with at least one 3 in Listening and Reading.
• Must be documented within 2 years prior to resume submission.

  Experience:
  • Target development, network analysis, drafting intel reports, speaker/language identification.
• Related Language
  
  Experience:
  • Oral translations, non-crypto audio/graphic translations, document exploitation, formal teaching. Ability to translate highly technical foreign language documents and audio files.
• Ability to translate gists that result in numerous product reports.
• Ability to provide quality control of both written and audio level 3 translations.
• Ability to perform complete translation from Chinese Mandarin into idiomatic English.
• Ability to extract and recover information that is deemed essential and/or critical.
• Ability to conduct comprehensive target and SIGINT development using agency-specific tools and databases.
• Has working knowledge of target analysis development skills to facilitate and provide recommended courses of action for multiple HUMINT and SIGINT operations.

• Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and lift up to 25 pounds.
