RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for the Inventory or Point of Use supply chain management systems. Provides oversight and coverage for assigned area as follows:
- Inventory:
Develops, recommends, implements, and monitors procedures and controls necessary to efficiently and cost effectively manage hospital supply inventory while fully supporting the supply needs of The Queen’s Medical Center. - Point of Use:
Plans, develops and manages the operations of the point of use systems, and the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system in an efficient and effective manner.
- Inventory:
- Extracts, analyzes, and organizes appropriate supply chain data to forecast usage, make internal par level changes, and works with respective vendors/distributors to make adjustments as needed.
- Serves as a liaison between Supply Chain and other departments and external vendors.
- Performs inventory control functions including coordination of product additions, revisions, and deletions and cycle counts.
- Seeing, hearing, speaking, finger dexterity.
- Frequent: sitting, walking, pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds of force, lifting up to 40 pounds, reaching above shoulder.
- Occasional: standing, stooping/bending, squatting, twisting body, carrying 25 pounds.
- Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.
- Education/Certification and Licensure:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field; or five (5) years supply chain management experience may be substituted for the educational requirement.
- Central Service Technician certification by the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSMM) highly preferred.
- Experience:
- In addition to the educational requirement, three (3) years experience in supply chain management, preferably in a comparable organization.
- Familiarity with medical/surgical supplies.
- Demonstrated knowledge of supply chain concepts and practices including: purchasing, warehousing, inventory control, material handling systems and centralized supply chain management systems.
