Position: HVAC O&M Facility Technician (Union)

HVAC O&M Facility Technician (Union) – Johnson Controls

Join a dynamic hospital environment where you will perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance to keep operations running smoothly.

What You Will Do

Working within a lively Hospital environment, perform assigned Facility Maintenance tasks including scheduled preventative maintenance and unscheduled demand maintenance events. Apply knowledge, skills and experience to work with the operations team and independently.

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Receive, update and complete assigned preventative and demand maintenance work orders within the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) QFM.
  • Respond to and resolve work in general facility services, equipment repair, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, painting and carpentry.
  • Source, plan and organize required tools and materials for day-to-day tasks and projects.
  • Use building prints, schematics and other available documents while solving system failures and work requests.
  • Operate a variety of hand tools and machines.
  • Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures and follow all company policies.
Required
  • Completion of a two-year technical degree or equivalent plus 5 years’ experience in a Facility Maintenance environment.
  • Working and operating knowledge of building systems including troubleshooting, repair and replacement.
  • In-depth knowledge of various maintenance fundamentals sufficient to handle service and repairs.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Physical ability to perform basic maintenance tasks: climb ladders, operate machinery, lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work varying shifts (including night shifts), weekends and holidays on a rotational shift schedule.
  • Strong interpersonal and time‑management skills.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
Preferred
  • Experience working in a health care setting.
  • Experience with wheeled equipment repair and maintenance.

Pay Range: hourly rate determined by the CBA/rate sheet. Benefits are provided through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement.
