Maintenance Technician – Honolulu, HI
Full‑time position within Hawaiian Building Maintenance.
Compensation$25.00 per hour. Base pay range: $25.00/hr – $25.00/hr.

Honolulu, HI 96813. (Appointment only, no walk‑ins)

- Perform preventative general maintenance inspections and repairs, including painting, drywall, plumbing, electrical (light replacement/ballast, driver replacement), mechanical and HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning), Chiller readings, AC installation (window units), and grounds maintenance.
- Interact with property managers, vendors, and customers to provide excellent customer service.
- Lift, push, pull a minimum of 50 lbs up to 75 lbs; walk, bend, stretch, and otherwise perform manual tasks during the shift.
- Ensure mechanical equipment and systems are operational and troubleshoot as necessary.
- Create and maintain work orders and purchase orders.
- Work in warm/hot conditions, use stairs, and navigate up and down a ladder.
- Perform additional maintenance duties as required by the Hawaiian Building Maintenance supervisor or property management.
- Must pass a background check.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule.
- Basic hand tools acquired.
- General preventative maintenance experience required: basic commercial plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and drywall.
- Troubleshooting abilities.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions in English.
- Strong public relations and communication skills.
- Customer service orientation.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Must perform basic manual labor, cleaning common areas, frequently lift, press, push, pull, carry a minimum of 50 lbs (up to 80 lbs), reach overhead, grasp objects, bend, kneel, crawl, squat, climb, stretch, walk, and stand throughout the shift.
- Willingness to learn and improve.
Monday to Friday, 6:30 am to 3:00 pm (40 hours per week). Must be available for after‑hours, weekends, and holidays.
