Accounting Manager​/Supervisor

We are looking for a skilled Accounting Manager to oversee and optimize the accounting operations of our organization in Honolulu, Hawaii. This role involves managing a diverse range of financial functions while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and process efficiency. Preference will be given to applicants currently residing in Hawaii due to the nature of the job requirements.

Responsibilities:

- Supervise and coordinate accounting operations, including premium processing, cash receipts, claims, disbursements, and vendor management.

- Monitor and refine accounting practices to ensure compliance with regulations and quality standards.

- Mentor and guide the accounting team, fostering growth and a culture of excellence.

- Oversee risk management activities and support audit processes and regulatory reviews.

- Lead initiatives to enhance accounting systems and streamline processes for greater efficiency.

- Manage budgets and allocate departmental resources effectively.

- Ensure accurate reconciliation of accounts and preparation of financial statements.

- Collaborate with stakeholders to address financial challenges and implement solutions.

- Support the preparation and review of journal entries and month-end close activities.

- Drive continuous improvement in financial reporting and operational workflows.

Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent relevant experience.

- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.

- Strong leadership skills and proven ability to manage teams effectively.

- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- High level of integrity.

- Proficiency in general ledger management, account reconciliation, and month-end close processes.

- Preferably, experience in regulated financial services or insurance accounting.
