We’re looking for a Commercial Property Controller who wants more than a traditional accounting role. - Own the full financial reporting lifecycle for a multi‑state commercial portfolio.
- Deliver accurate, timely GAAP‑compliant financials and insightful variance analyses.
- Present financial results directly to executive leadership and clients.
- Champion system improvements using MRI, Oracle Fusion, and automation tools.
- Lead the annual budgeting process for all properties and corporate entities.
- Partner with asset management and operations to build data‑driven forecasts.
- Identify trends, risks, and opportunities that shape strategic decisions and capital planning.
- Strengthen internal controls and ensure financial integrity across the portfolio.
- Manage internal and external audits with confidence and precision.
- Support tax filings and regulatory reporting with accuracy and timeliness.
- Lead and develop a high‑performing accounting team.
- Foster a culture of accountability, growth, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate closely with property management, leasing, and executive teams to drive operational excellence.
- Enhance accounting workflows through automation and best practices.
- Oversee GL, AP/AR, CAM reconciliations, lease administration, and tenant billing.
- Support seamless onboarding and offboarding of property transactions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- CPA or CMA strongly preferred; MBA a plus.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in a leadership role within commercial real estate or property management.
- Proven expertise in property accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance.
- Demonstrated success leading teams and improving accounting processes.
- Advanced proficiency with MRI, Oracle Fusion, and Excel.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, ASC 842, and real estate financial reporting.
- Excellent analytical and financial modeling skills.
- Confident communicator who can translate complex financial data into actionable insights.
