Note:

This position is responsible for overseeing essential court support functions including jury selection, court reporting, and interpreting services. The role involves managing the statewide jury process, ensuring accurate recording and transcription of proceedings, and coordinating foreign language interpretation across all First Circuit courts.
It includes planning, directing, and evaluating branch operations; developing and implementing policies and procedures; managing budgets, contracts, and staff; and collaborating with internal and external partners to maintain efficient, compliant operations. The position also represents the Branch on committees, supports legislative and administrative initiatives, and ensures high-quality service delivery through effective leadership and resource management.
- Oversee essential court support functions including jury selection, court reporting, and interpreting services.
- Manage the statewide jury process, ensure accurate recording and transcription of proceedings, and coordinate foreign language interpretation across all First Circuit courts.
- Plan, direct, and evaluate branch operations; develop and implement policies and procedures; manage budgets, contracts, and staff.

- Represent the Branch on committees; support legislative and administrative initiatives; ensure high-quality service delivery through leadership and resource management.
- Education: Education Requirement:
Graduation from an accredited (4) year college or university with a bachelor’s degree. - Excess work experience / Substitution: Excess work experience as described under Specialized Experience below, or any other responsible administrative, professional or analytical work experience which provided knowledge and abilities comparable to those acquired in four (4) years of successful study while completing a college or university curriculum leading to a bachelor’s degree may be substituted on a year-for-year basis. To be acceptable, the experience must have been of such scope, level and quality as to assure the possession of comparable knowledge of comparable knowledge and abilities.
- The education or experience background must also demonstrate the ability to write clear and comprehensive reports and other documents; read and interpret complex material; and solve complex problems logically and systematically.
- Specialized Experience: Three (3) years of progressively responsible professional, administrative, technical work experience in one or a combination of the following areas. Clerical work experience is non-qualifying:
- In a court or legal setting, responsibility for supervising or overseeing the operational activities of a unit or section whose primary function is the preparation and/or processing of legal documents. This must include: planning and directing the work of others; assigning and reviewing their work; advising them on difficult problem areas; timing and scheduling their work; training and developing new employees;
and disciplining them when necessary. Examples of legal setting include:
Office of the Prosecutor, Public Defender, Department of the Attorney General, legal department in a financial institution or trust company, private attorney’s office. - Independently performing professional work involving written analysis, evaluation and recommendations for problem resolution in a court or legal setting, or those social work or administrative programs of the courts.
