- ** Serves as a designated operational lead for the Vegetation Restoration (VR) Field Team, assuming full leadership and direction of the team in the VR Field Supervisor's absence.
- ** Under the direction of the VR Field Supervisor, contributes and supports administrative and personnel management functions, including recruitments, onboarding, professional development, performance evaluations, promotions, disciplinary actions, and day-to-day oversight of the VR field team.
- ** Supports the VR Field Supervisor in maintaining high levels of team productivity and operational efficiency, and ensures strict compliance with all safety standards.
- ** Assists with incorporating and enforcing comprehensive safety standards, ensuring program-wide adherence to standard operating procedures, timely reporting of incidents, and appropriate personnel action and training.
- Contributes to the review and revision of Natural Resource Management (NRM) Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ensuring accuracy, efficacy, and alignment with current regulatory requirements.
- ** Contributes to professional growth initiatives and education days by providing logistical and instructional support to include hands‑on training in field techniques, native and invasive species identification, and safety practices.
- ** Assists with the overall direction and task management in overseeing, managing, and leading the implementation of all office‑based tasks and field work for the VR field team.
- Works under the VR Field Supervisor to develop, plan, review, and revise field actions in collaboration with program managers, coordinators, biologists, specialists, and other field crews.
- Assists with the oversight of all team logistics, including scheduling, gear inventory, vehicle oversight, helicopter operations support, data collection and management, and ensuring successful action completion.
- ** Under the direction of the VR Field Supervisor, maintains quality control and ensures the timely submission of programmatic deliverables, including comprehensive internal/external reports, action review, management plans, presentations, permit applications/reports, and required pesticide usage documentation. Manages workflows to meet deadlines and stakeholder expectations.
- Under direction of the VR Field Supervisor, engages in interagency collaboration and coordination, participates in working groups, consultations, and meetings to inform, innovate, and implement shared conservation strategies related to vegetation management and restoration.
- Conducts operations in UXO‑affected areas, supports helicopter missions, and may perform other high‑risk tasks while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Education and Professional
Work Experience:
- Possession of a baccalaureate degree in Biological Science, Natural Resource Management, Geography, Environmental Science, or related field and three (3) years of progressively responsible professional experience with natural resource management of biological resources in island ecosystems; or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated.
