Opportunity

Tetra Tech is seeking a senior project manager in Hawaii to lead strategic planning, business development, capture, and project execution for U.S. Department of Defense and related clients in the Indo‑Pacific region.

Responsibilities
  • Develop new client accounts and work with account managers to expand the client base.
  • Prepare proposals, support projects, and perform technical work as necessary, balancing sales and utilization.
  • Develop and implement growth strategies to increase client base for environmental, climate change, resiliency, planning, engineering, munitions, geospatial, and construction management services.
  • Identify, develop, and nurture strategic partnerships to support DoD programs in the region.
  • Provide local knowledge, leadership, and subject‑matter expertise to support projects and client needs.
  • Meet with key clients and potential clients to share Tetra Tech’s capabilities and foster stronger client relationships, building trust in the brand.
  • Collaborate with experts across Tetra Tech’s Pacific Region.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements

Required:

  • Professional registration (PE, RA, PG, PMP, etc.) preferred.
  • Knowledge of U.S. Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, or other U.S. federal organizations required.
  • Experience working with governmental organizations and decision‑makers in the Indo‑Pacific region required.
  • US citizenship or permanent residence card required.
  • Pass background screening, including criminal history and credit check.
  • Willingness to participate in short‑term international travel as needed.
  • Ability to drive occasionally for business purposes; valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.

Preferred:

  • DOD security clearance or ability to obtain one.
  • Experience interacting with senior DoD and regional governmental leaders.
  • Enthusiasm for contributing to team projects.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or related field required; master’s degree preferred.
  • Ten years of experience supporting architecture/engineering/construction industry and project execution within the Pacific Region.
  • Five years of project management experience preferred.
  • Three years of experience with business development, strategic planning, and proposal writing preferred.
Physical Demands

The role typically involves office work but may require occasional travel and onsite work, including lifting up to 25 pounds, traversing uneven terrain during site visits, and standing for long periods at public meetings.

Work Environment

Work is primarily conducted in an office environment (either in a Tetra Tech office or remotely). Occasional site visits may be required, involving data gathering, on‑site meetings, and attendance at conferences or training.

Language & Communication Skills
  • Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking).
  • Excellent writing skills for proposals and deliverables suitable for client submission.
  • Ability to give verbal presentations, including corporate qualification, short‑list interviews, and strategic plan briefings to corporate stakeholders.
Other Skills

Proficiency with primary Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, Teams, Outlook) is required.

Additional Information

Employment type:

Full‑time, 40 hours per week. Overtime available with manager approval.

Schedule:

Monday‑Friday, 8:30 AM‑5:00 PM (unpaid 30‑minute lunch break).

Location:

Hawaii (remote or hybrid available).

Salary range: $160,000 to $180,000.
