Medicaid IT Project Coordinator
Overview / SummaryThe Med-QUEST Division (MQD) leads statewide efforts to provide medical assistance to low-income Hawaiʻi residents and supports Medicaid enterprise systems and related technology solutions. The Project Coordinator supports the successful execution of multiple projects and initiatives by organizing work activities, monitoring timelines, coordinating stakeholders, and maintaining project documentation. This role works closely with project managers, internal teams, and external partners to help keep projects on schedule, within scope, and aligned with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities- Support implementation of three to four concurrent projects and initiatives, ensuring work progresses according to scope, requirements, and schedules.
- Develop, maintain, and update project schedules.
- Track project milestones and identify potential delays.
- Maintain project documentation and ensure materials remain current, organized, and accessible.
- Coordinate and manage assigned project activities.
- Receive assignments from Project Management to oversee or manage specific areas of the work plan.
- Initiate actions to accomplish tasks within established timelines and budgets.
- Represent Project Management in meetings as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Two and one-half years of progressively responsible experience involving the review, analysis, and evaluation of organizational and administrative practices to determine the need for revision or implementation of information technology applications in a large business or government agency.
- Knowledge of principles, practices, and goals of health care management and managed care systems.
- Knowledge of information technology principles, practices, and goals of private and public health or insurance programs.
- Knowledge of principles and practices of supervision, budgeting, planning, and human and organizational behavior.
- Ability to make logical and objective decisions.
- Ability to exercise judgment and make responsible decisions.
- Ability to resolve conflicts fairly and consistently.
- Ability to analyze and evaluate facts on a large scale.
- Ability to gain the confidence and cooperation of others.
- Ability to make sound administrative policy decisions.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage people and resources efficiently and effectively.
