Overview
The Airport Operations and Maintenance Worker III position supervises operations, maintenance, security and crash/fire activities for Kapalua Airport. The role represents the Airport District Manager when dealing with airlines, tenants, licensees, permit tees, personnel, and the public.
ResponsibilitiesSupervise and coordinate airport operations, maintenance, security, and crash/fire response; liaise with airlines, tenants, and other stakeholders; ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations; support night-flight operations and daily service levels at Kapalua Airport.
Qualifications- Specialized
Experience:
Four (4) years of semi-skilled or skilled work experience in one or more building or mechanical trades. Coursework at an accredited technical school or community college in a building or mechanical trade can substitute for experience (fifteen (15) semester credit hours for six (6) months, up to two (2) years). - Supervisory Aptitude: Applicants for the Airport Operations and Maintenance Worker III level must demonstrate supervisory aptitude through prior lead or supervisory assignments, training, or favorable supervisor appraisals.
- Driver's License: Must possess a valid driver's license at the time of appointment.
- SIDA Clearance – Federal Criminal History Records Check: Must undergo fingerprint-based criminal history check for unescorted access to secured airport areas. Must not have a disqualifying conviction within the preceding ten years.
- Legal Authorization to Work: United States citizenship, national status, permanent resident aliens, or eligibility for unrestricted employment under federal law.
