Position: CLERICAL SUPERVISOR IV - DOWNTOWN, OAHU

Clerical Supervisor IV

This vacancy is with the Department of Commerce & Consumer Affairs, Professional & Vocational Licensing Division.

Salary: $4,730 to $5,986 per month (SR-16, Step C to I)

The Clerical Supervisor IV consists of two types of positions:

  • Supervises, through one or more full or working subordinate supervisors, and has overall responsibility for, two or more groups of subordinates which perform journey level clerical work (comparable to Office Assistant III), or
  • Serves as the immediate supervisor of, with overall responsibility for, the work of a group of subordinates which perform senior level clerical work (comparable to Office Assistant IV).

Performs other related duties as assigned.

To qualify, you must meet all of the following requirements:

  • Legal Authorization to Work:
    The State of Hawaii requires all persons seeking employment with the government of the State shall be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.
  • General Clerical

    Experience:

    Four and one-half (4-1/2) years of responsible work experience which involved independently performing a variety of clerical tasks and demonstrated knowledge of and competence in carrying out office practices and procedures in clerical work systems and the operation of various kinds of office equipment and technologies. The experience must also have demonstrated knowledge of and competence in the use of English grammar, spelling, punctuation and arithmetic;

    and the ability to read and understand oral and written instructions, write simply and directly and compare words and numbers quickly and accurately.
  • Supervisory

    Experience:

    Supervisory work experience which included: planning, organizing, scheduling, and directing the work of others; assigning and reviewing their work; advising them on difficult work problems; training and developing subordinates; and evaluating their work performance.
