DutiesYou will plan, prioritize, and schedule work to ensure effective and timely completion of priority tasks without affecting regular work.
You will assign tasks to subordinates according to their capabilities, task priorities, and level of difficulty.
You will provide scheduled time to execute leadership-development activities. Mentor, coach, and develop the accounting team and ensure succession plans are in place.
You will provide technical guidance and support in developing and implementing training programs that align with the Strategic Leadership Team's objectives.
You will evaluate and recommend the costs and benefits of alternative financial management methods for the organization's programs and administrative operations.
You will perform a variety of other fiscal, accounting, or financial management duties and responsibilities depending on the needs of the organization.

You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
This is a Financial Management Level III certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.
This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR .
An interview may be required in addition to the assessment tools listed in the "How You Will Be Evaluated" section.
QualificationsYour resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector applying budgeting concepts, principles, practices, laws, and regulations to ensure budget formulation and budget execution functions are in compliance; developing and implementing budgetary or financial policies;
and interpreting the impact of financial or budgetary program changes (e.g., legislation, executive orders, Office of Management and Budget (OMB) guidance) to provide technical guidance to others.
