Job Description

Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Rolling Stock and Depot Equipment Manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based Pearl City, Hawaii.

Technical Responsibilities
  • Plan, manage, supervise,overseeandallocateresources to all aspects of maintenance activities within the maintenance sections ofrolling stockanddepot equipment;
  • Provide support and guidance onrolling stockanddepot equipment within the Engineering & Maintenance Department and to the O&M organization at-large;
  • Assist the Engineering& Asset Manager and staffin updating the maintenance procedures and workinstructionto enhance safety,reliability and efficiency;
  • Manage and completeassigned operational, equipment failure,safetyand other reports as required.
  • Assist the Engineering &Asset Managerin providing strategic direction, planning, and managingassessing asset condition, performance and obsolescence ofpassenger vehicles and Depot equipment;
  • Perform and carry out duties as instructed/directed bythe

    Head of Maintenance.
  • Manage and performtroubleshooting, identification and resolution of System and subsystem to support field technicians in the diagnosis and correction of faults.
  • Manage the completion of assigned operational, equipment failure,safetyand other reports as required.
  • Manage and schedule the routine, preventivemaintenanceand unscheduledcorrectivemaintenance, inspection, adjustments, testing, cleaning, and proper maintenance on assigned equipment in accordance with, schematics, operations manuals, and manufacturers maintenance instructions.
  • Managelog files to troubleshoot any problem or to provide predictive maintenance for the systems.
  • Ensure the effective implementation of first-line responsemaintenance safety standards.
  • Direct and where necessary supervise staff inhandlingcomplex maintenance activities;
  • Plan, manage andallocateresources toensure PV availability andeffectiveand efficient use of thedepotequipment and facilities;
  • Ensurethatall staff within

    Rolling Stock and Depotequipment section are fully competent to perform their assigned tasks;
  • Ensure that the safety standards within the sections of rolling stock and first line response maintenanceareestablishedand in compliance with the company safety policy and procedures;
  • Ensure that the safety procedures are fullyobservedand implemented during all maintenance activities on rolling stock, depot equipment and the warehousebyemployees andsub-contractorsalike;
  • Meet the Key Performance Indicatorsaccording to the targets agreed with the Maintenance & Engineering Manager;
  • The role requires flexibility and efficiency which require shift rotation,working on weekends andholidayswhich istypical of major infrastructure projects, and operationalrailtransit systems.
  • Be available to attend on a24-hour on-callbasisincidents and emergencywithin its section.

  • Conduct regular health, safety,quality and environmental management review todetermineif performance is adequate and to recommend any changes in procedures;
  • Follow safe working procedures personally and wear appropriate protectivegears asrequiredand look out for the safety of others;
