Job DescriptionPositions in the Project Manager Series includes all classes of positions which reflect responsibility for the supervision and/or performance of professional work in planning, organizing, managing, implementing, and evaluating specific projects on behalf of a department. Positions in this series are accountable for all aspects of a project, ensuring that all products identified in the project scope are delivered on time and within budget.
Positions also perform other related administrative duties such as managing the project budget, developing and monitoring contracts, and creating status reports. Level II in the Project Manager series reflect one or a combination of two general types: a full supervisor over a unit or team of lower-level positions engaged in the performance of professional project management work or a senior project manager responsible for planning, organizing, managing, implementing, and evaluating one or more projects concurrently.
Such projects are considered highly complex due to their extensive scope and impact to the State of Hawaii.

Legal Authorization to Work:
The State of Hawaii requires all persons seeking employment with the government of the State shall be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States. Basic
Education:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university. Specialized
Experience:
Four and one-half (4-1/2) years of progressively responsible professional experience planning, directing, managing, monitoring, and evaluating projects. Such experience must include determining project goals, scope, deliverables, timelines, costs, and resources; leading project teams; administering budgets and contracts; tracking project progress to ensure that milestones are met on time and within budget; documenting project progress; and identifying metrics for project evaluation. Supervisory Aptitude:
Supervisory aptitude rather than actual supervisory experience is required. This requirement will be considered to have been met when there is strong affirmative evidence of the necessary supervisory abilities and/or potential. Driver's License Requirement:
