Univision Communications Inc., the leading Spanish-language media company in the United States, is looking for a highly motivated and energetic leader to represent Univision Local Media Los Angeles. The President & General Manager of Los Angeles will have a clear vision and execute on strategy to drive revenue and profitability growth while adapting to the rapidly changing media landscape. They will excel in traditional linear media management and possess transformative expertise in digital media sales.

The President and General Manager has highly developed leadership skills and is a clear, empathetic communicator who is also hands‑on. The leader is optimistic, a strategic risk-taker, and focused on metrics of success. He/she will be a creative thinker who generates new ideas, understands our diversity, and maximizes our brands and resources to achieve market leadership. He/she should cultivate key client relationships and set the example for all to follow.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the overall vision, direction, coordination, and profitability of Univision Los Angeles.
  • Assume P&L responsibility for the Los Angeles market, with a strategic focus on digital revenue growth, market revenue and profitability.
  • Lead the Los Angeles sales and business development strategy with a forward thinking approach to digital sales.
  • Inspire and lead teams with conviction, fostering a culture of innovation and adaptability.
  • Utilize emotional intelligence to navigate layered sales scenarios, with an emphasis on digital and build a high-performing team.
  • Act as the primary liaison with local government leaders, community influencers, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Drive community and empowerment initiatives aligned with our commitment to a double bottom line.
  • Lead Department Heads in Sales, Public Affairs, Community/Public Affairs, Operations, Creative Services, Marketing and Production Departments, and collaborate with News leadership in accordance with Company policies, procedures and applicable laws.
  • Direct Station activities to ensure compliance with government regulations and ensure protection of FCC Licenses.
  • Direct plans with marketing personnel to have audience growth strategies and community outreach for all business units.
  • Develop strategies to achieve organizational goals, and identify external threats and opportunities by analyzing market and competition.
  • Supervise and counsel Sales Department management and staff to ensure objectives are met, and maximum sales productivity.
  • Develop an annual business plan and work within approved budget.
  • Implement cost saving measures when needed, to achieve EBITDA goals.
  • Confere with senior management to discuss Station policies and procedures.
  • Conduct and maintain relationships with key clients, local & national agencies and organizations to promote station services in the California market.
  • Represent stations in the community among elected officials, business leaders and charitable groups to reflect favorably on corporate enterprise.
  • Direct the annual budget process.
  • Develop cross-promotional relationships with other business and non‑profit partners.
  • Maintain a winning culture of teamwork that is conducive to a successful and productive working environment.
  • Establish and maintain performance and incentive plans for each department that recognizes employee results and excellent achievement.
  • Develop and execute a local event strategy.
  • Drive the Digital Strategy.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of EEO policy.
Qualifications
  • Fluency in Spanish and a deep understanding of Hispanic culture.
  • College Degree required, Master degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 15 years of broadcast/media experience.
  • Must have 5 years of successful television and/or radio management experience, and at least 5 years of proven digital sales experience.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, negotiation and analytical skills.
  • Must be able to drive and have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
Desired Skills & Experience
  • Prior experience in Spanish language broadcasting is preferred.
Eligibility Requirements
  • Must be willing to work in Los Angeles, CA.
  • Employment/education will be verified.
  • Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.

Salary Range: $283,500 - $472,500 + benefits.
