Pacific Shipyards International (PSI) is searching for an experienced Execution Superintendent to join our ship repair team in Hawaii.

PSI is Hawaii's largest privately owned shipyard and has served military and commercial customers since 1944. With two of the largest dry docks in the state, PSI employs a highly skilled workforce supported by engineering, project management, quality assurance, environmental health and safety, contracts, accounting, human resources, and other professional disciplines dedicated to successful vessel repair and modernization projects.
The Execution Superintendent is responsible for the day‑to‑day execution, coordination, and oversight of ship repair, maintenance, modernization, and alteration projects to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards, technical specifications, and customer requirements. As a key member of the Project Team, this position works closely with Project Managers, Department Managers, Planning, Engineering, Quality Assurance, Safety, Materials, subcontractors, and customer representatives to drive successful project execution.
The Execution Superintendent provides leadership and coordination across multiple production disciplines, including Structural, Pipe, Mechanical, Electrical, Preservation/Coatings, and Labor. This role is responsible for monitoring production progress, managing resources, resolving execution challenges, and implementing corrective actions to maintain schedule performance and productivity. Serving as a critical link between project planning and field execution, the Execution Superintendent promotes a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement while ensuring effective coordination among production teams, subcontractors, and customers throughout all phases of ship repair.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Manage, plan, and coordinate ship repair work items as part of the Project Team.
- Lead and coordinate production activities across all assigned departments to ensure safe, efficient, and timely project execution.
- Ensure departmental work is executed in accordance with project schedules, budgets, quality standards, technical specifications, and customer requirements.
- Coordinate and collaborate with Production, Planning, Project Management, Quality Assurance, Safety, Engineering, Materials, Operations, subcontractors, OEM technical representatives, and customers throughout all phases of repair.
- Facilitate communication and coordination between multiple trades including Structural, Pipe, Mechanical, Electrical, Preservation/Coatings, and Labor departments.
- Monitor project progress and identify risks, bottlenecks, resource constraints, and schedule impacts; develop and implement recovery plans as necessary.
- Drive accountability for departmental performance, productivity, workmanship quality, and milestone completion.
- Support workforce planning and resource allocation to meet project demands while maximizing labor efficiency.
- Allocate labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor resources to support project objectives.
- Track productivity, manpower utilization, and resource requirements; communicate shortages or constraints to project leadership.
- Participate in production meetings and provide leadership with accurate status updates, forecasts, and recommendations.
- Act as a primary point of contact for internal stakeholders, subcontractors, suppliers, and customers regarding production‑related activities.
- Ensure compliance with NAVSEA requirements, company procedures, safety regulations, environmental requirements, and customer expectations.
- Promote and maintain a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the shipyard.
- Enforce strict adherence to safety policies and procedures; participate in safety meetings, inspections, incident investigations, and corrective actions.
