General Manager

A well-established, rapidly growing Hawaii-based distribution company is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead its Oahu operation.

This is a key leadership position with responsibility for the overall performance of a significant branch operation, including sales, operations, people development, customer service, inventory, profitability and continued growth.

The company serves multiple commercial and construction-related markets throughout Hawaii and is experiencing significant growth. We are looking for a leader who can build on that momentum while maintaining the relationships, responsiveness and local culture that have been central to the company's success.

• Provide overall leadership and direction for the Oahu operation
• Lead, develop and hold accountable a team across sales, operations, warehouse, delivery and customer service
• Take ownership of branch financial performance, including revenue, profitability, expenses and operating results
• Drive continued sales growth while strengthening relationships with key customers and business partners
• Ensure the organization responds quickly to customer needs and maintains a strong sense of urgency
• Improve operational efficiency, inventory management, logistics and overall speed to market
• Recruit, mentor and develop employees while building a strong leadership bench
• Establish clear goals, expectations and performance metrics
• Work closely with company leadership on growth initiatives and opportunities across multiple market verticals
• Maintain a visible presence with employees, customers and the local business community

The ideal candidate will bring:

• Successful leadership experience in a distribution, construction supply, industrial, building products, wholesale, logistics or similarly fast-paced business
• Experience leading both people and operations, ideally with P&L responsibility
• A demonstrated ability to grow a business while improving execution
• Strong understanding of inventory, logistics, purchasing and the importance of product availability and speed to market
• A customer-first mentality and strong commercial instincts
• The ability to develop, motivate and retain a high-performing team
• Decisiveness, accountability and the willingness to be hands-on when necessary
• Strong relationship-building skills
• An understanding of Hawaii's business environment and culture
