Marine Machinery Mechanic Leader; Expert

Job Title

The role involves serving as a subject matter expert for the installation, alignment, repairs, and tests of shipboard machinery, including engines, ordnance machinery, deck machinery, and other components within the shop.

The duties include leading, training, and mentoring shop personnel performing disassembly, inspection, repair, test, shipboard lay-out and alignment, installation of steam turbines, reduction gears, and other main propulsion components.

Additionally, the role requires completing inspection reports, reviewing technical work documents, and referring discrepancies to supervisors for appropriate action.

The job also involves monitoring the diagnosis of malfunctions on ships and submarines and ensuring repairs and maintenance of machinery and equipment are in accordance with schematic drawings, operation manuals, and manufacturer's specifications.

Finally, the position entails inspecting completed work for quality and work requirements.
