Production Manager
Job Summary
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Production Manager will be responsible for production output in a high‑volume department. The Production Manager will manage salaried plant personnel and provide direction in the operations area to produce the best quality product possible, at the least cost standards while maintaining a safe work environment.
Responsibilities- Oversee production line management to ensure product is produced according to Company specifications and meet production, usage, and labor goals.
- Promote a culture of engagement and responsibility with human and food safety with hourly employees through compliance of OSHA regulations and compliance policies.
- Promote continuous improvement in production process to improve safety, cost effectiveness, and product quality.
- Coordinate production requirements with maintenance and engineering to ensure plant goals are obtained.
- Share metrics with front‑line supervisors to promote continuous improvement.
- Responsible for operation performance on 1st and 2nd shift production.
- Allocate labor to exceed Company standards.
- Oversee the cleanliness of the plant production areas.
- Ensure workforce is trained in job requirements.
- Ensure flow of important information to all levels and shifts of plant management.
- Monitor correct ingredient usage at plant standards while maintaining quality goals.
- Report ingredient usage and labor figures for proper costing and recall requirements.
- Interface and collaborate with departments of Human Resources, Finance, Lean Supply, etc.
- B.S. degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Biology, Industrial Management, or related field from a four‑year college or university.
- Four to six years related training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in the food industry.
