The Director of Leadership Giving is responsible for major gift fundraising with a special emphasis on Reunion gifts, raising leadership gifts for the School. The Director will be actively involved in cultivation and stewardship strategy and implementation including donor-related events and activities and will work closely with colleagues from across campus, volunteers and School leadership.

The Development team, one of five core branches within the Advancement Office, is a high-performing group of nine professionals. Together, they secure support from individuals, private foundations, and corporate partners. The team is dedicated to educating the global Punahou community on institutional priorities and endowment growth, fostering a culture of philanthropy that supports both immediate projects and long-term sustainability. Job duties include, but are not limited to:

• Manages a portfolio of approximately 100 major gift prospects, ensuring consistent movement through the donor pipeline, from qualification to solicitation.
• Cultivates, solicits, and secures outright and pledged gifts with a primary focus on gifts at the major gifts level ($25K+).
• Develops and executes cultivation and solicitation strategies for each prospective major donor, ensuring regular and systematic engagement. Prepares contact reports, strategies, and necessary follow-up materials, including gift proposals, fund agreements, campus visits, etc.
• In collaboration with Advancement colleagues, oversee Reunion giving strategy, including the support of Reunion Gift Committee volunteer solicitors and raising leadership Reunion gifts directly from alumni.
• Designs and executes a comprehensive leadership giving training program for Class Reunion Gift Committees.
• Support overall donor prospecting and pipeline management for the benefit of the Development team.
• Collaborate and guide a variety of internal and external constituents, including school volunteers, to develop effective outreach strategies in support of fundraising.
• Participate in the planning and implementation of donor stewardship related strategy, including donor communications and events.

  Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM. Occasional nights and weekends depending on operational needs.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree required;
  Master's preferred.
• Five (5) years of fundraising experience.
• Understanding of fundraising strategies and tactics, and ability to distill fundraising information into communications suitable for community members.
• Demonstrated proficiency with Google products, Adobe products, Microsoft Windows and Office suite, and common graphics package.
• Strong project management skills with ability to set timelines, map milestones, meet deadlines, and juggle multiple projects with competing priorities.
• Strong writing and editing skills.
• Deep familiarity with and knowledge of the School community and its institutional advancement goals strongly preferred.
