Setting: Acute Care / Critical Care Unit
We are seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse (ICU RN) to provide high-acuity, patient-centered care in a fast-paced critical care environment. This role requires clinical flexibility, strong critical-thinking skills, and the ability to float to PCU or Medical-Surgical units during periods of low ICU census.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver comprehensive critical care nursing services to ICU and CCU patients.
- Monitor, assess, and respond to changes in patient condition, utilizing advanced clinical judgment.
- Administer medications, manage ventilators and invasive lines, and perform complex patient assessments.
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans.
- Accurately document patient care and interventions using the Cerner EMR system.
- Float to Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or Medical-Surgical units as needed based on census.
- Participate in weekend and holiday coverage, including consecutive weekends when required
. - Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Active Hawaii Registered Nurse (RN) license required prior to contract start.
- Minimum 5 years of ICU or Critical Care experience
. - Proven ability to float to PCU and Med-Surg units as needed.
- Flexibility to work rotating 12-hour shifts and consecutive weekends.
- BLS/BCLS (required)
- ACLS (required)
- Additional certifications such as PALS, NRP, or other critical care certifications preferred per facility standards.
- Holiday coverage required (holiday rate applies only if the shift begins on the holiday).
- Bilingual not required
. - State compliance requirements differ from other Hawaii health systems; advance contracting not required.
