Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse (ICU RN) to provide high-acuity, patient-centered care in a fast-paced critical care environment. This role requires clinical flexibility, strong critical-thinking skills, and the ability to float to PCU or Medical-Surgical units during periods of low ICU census.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver comprehensive critical care nursing services to ICU and CCU patients.
  • Monitor, assess, and respond to changes in patient condition, utilizing advanced clinical judgment.
  • Administer medications, manage ventilators and invasive lines, and perform complex patient assessments.
  • Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans.
  • Accurately document patient care and interventions using the Cerner EMR system.
  • Float to Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or Medical-Surgical units as needed based on census.
  • Participate in weekend and holiday coverage, including consecutive weekends when required

  • Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
  • Active Hawaii Registered Nurse (RN) license required prior to contract start.
  • Minimum 5 years of ICU or Critical Care experience
    .
  • Proven ability to float to PCU and Med-Surg units as needed.
  • Flexibility to work rotating 12-hour shifts and consecutive weekends.
Certifications
  • BLS/BCLS (required)
  • ACLS (required)
  • Additional certifications such as PALS, NRP, or other critical care certifications preferred per facility standards.
Additional Information
  • Holiday coverage required (holiday rate applies only if the shift begins on the holiday).
  • Bilingual not required

  • State compliance requirements differ from other Hawaii health systems; advance contracting not required.
