Registered Nurse - Progressive Care Unit (PRN)
Location: Honolulu, HI, 96817
Employment Type: PRN
Pay Rate: $50 - $56/hr; (Negotiable based on experience)
Shifts Available: 12-hr Shifts
- Night Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
- Day Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Progressive Care Unit (PCU) team on a PRN basis. As an RN in the PCU, you will provide intermediate-level care to patients who require close monitoring and frequent assessments, often due to complex medical conditions. This role is ideal for experienced nurses seeking flexibility and a dynamic clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver safe, evidence-based, and patient-centered nursing care in a PCU setting.
- Monitor and assess patients with acute and chronic conditions, identifying changes in status.
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, interdisciplinary team members, and families.
- Provide patient and family education regarding health conditions and care plans.
- Document all patient care accurately and timely using electronic medical records (EMR).
- Respond to emergency situations with swift, effective interventions.
- Uphold hospital policies, procedures, and best practices in patient care.
- Active RN license in the state of Hawaii.
- Minimum 1 year of recent PCU/Step-Down/Telemetry nursing experience.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association).
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
