American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a critical need Postpartum (Mother Baby) position in Honolulu, HI, requiring an active HI RN license and night shift availability.

Job Details

• Hospital-based postpartum unit setting in Honolulu, HI,

• Night shift: 7:15 PM - 7:45 AM (12-hour shifts),

• 36 hours per week,

• 13-week contract,

• EMR:
Epic experience preferred,

• Caseload includes postpartum mothers and newborns, including high-risk cases requiring medications such as Magnesium, Oxytocin, and Insulin,

• Procedures include electronic fetal monitoring, IV administration, lab draws, urine point-of-care testing, capillary blood glucose testing, iStat, adult cardiac monitoring, and newborn heel sticks/venipuncture,

Job Requirements

• Active HI RN license required (must be active at time of consideration; pending licensure not accepted),

• Current BLS and Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications required,

• Minimum 1 year of recent (within the last 3 years) full-time equivalent postpartum or related nursing experience,

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program,

• Demonstrated experience with electronic fetal monitoring,

• Demonstrated experience with IV skills and lab draws,

• Demonstrated knowledge of high-risk medication administration (Magnesium, Oxytocin, Insulin),

• Demonstrated knowledge of newborn monitoring equipment, including pulse oximetry and cardiac monitoring,

• Demonstrated knowledge of bili-blankets/lights and radiant warmers,

• BSN preferred,

• Minimum 3 years of labor and delivery experience preferred,

• Minimum 3 years of postpartum experience preferred,

• Last 4 digits of SSN and date of birth required for consideration,

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include maternal-newborn teaching and supporting gynecological/post-operative bladder training,

• Local candidates are accepted and receive the same rate as travel candidates,

• Candidates who have worked with Kaiser Permanente as a contingent worker may not exceed two cumulative years of assignment without a minimum 90-day break in service
