Overview
Registered Nurse – PACU in Honolulu, HI. This travel nursing assignment is a 16-week contract starting 06/22/2026 with guaranteed 36 hours per week and a 3x12 rotating shift. Nursys submission requested
- Provide direct patient care in PACU Phase I/II, monitoring airway, breathing, circulation, and recovery status after anesthesia
- Assess and manage pain, nausea, hemodynamics, and telemetry as indicated; respond to physiologic changes promptly
- Collaborate with anesthesia providers and surgical teams to ensure timely recovery and appropriate disposition
- Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the patient record; adhere to infection control and safety protocols
- Prepare patients for discharge to PACU Phase II or transfer to appropriate inpatient units; educate patients and families as appropriate
- Uphold unit safety standards; be prepared to assist with nursing assistant or safety sitter duties if needed
- Licensure:
Active, unencumbered Hawaii RN license - Education:
Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred - Certifications:
Current BLS/HCP, ACLS, and PALS required - Experience:
Two (2) or more years of full‑time PACU Phase I/II RN experience in a large medical center (500+ beds); telemetry experience required; ICU experience highly preferred - Certifications/Specialties: CPI (or equivalent) and NIHSS preferred; specialty certifications (CCRN, CPAN, PCCN) highly desired
- Compliance:
All licenses and certifications must be valid at application submission and throughout the initial contract; compliance due no later than 10 days prior to start - Additional:
If RN is not needed on the PACU unit, may be assigned to nursing assistant or safety sitter duties
- 24/7 recruiter and travel support
