Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Adult Day Health
Job Type: Contract
Position SummaryWe are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to support clients in an Adult Day Health setting. This role is responsible for providing direct patient care while assisting with supportive, therapeutic, and recreational activities that promote clients' physical, emotional, and social well-being.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct personal care and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), including feeding, bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Monitor and document client conditions, reporting any changes or concerns to the nursing team.
- Measure and record vital signs and other basic health indicators as directed.
- Assist clients with mobility, transfers, positioning, and restorative care activities.
- Support therapeutic, social, and recreational programs designed to enhance client engagement and quality of life.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for clients.
- Follow infection control procedures, universal precautions, and safety guidelines.
- Respect and uphold client rights, dignity, privacy, and confidentiality.
- Collaborate effectively with nurses, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure quality care.
- Active Nurse Aide/Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
- Minimum of one (1) year of CNA experience preferred.
- Knowledge of basic nursing skills, including taking vital signs and recognizing abnormal signs and symptoms.
- Understanding of the aging process and the needs of adult and geriatric populations.
- Knowledge of first aid, infection control, body mechanics, and patient safety practices.
- Familiarity with restorative care techniques and assistive devices.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a compassionate, patient-centered approach to care.
- Day Shift
- Experience working in long-term care, adult day health, or related healthcare settings.
- Ability to facilitate and participate in recreational and therapeutic activities.
- Strong observational, organizational, and documentation skills.
This position is based in an Adult Day Health program where the CNA plays a vital role in supporting clients' health, independence, and overall quality of life through both direct care and meaningful engagement activities.
